In recent years, there have been a plethora of conferences, expert groups, and stakeholder workshops addressing what some refer to as ‘new migration’. These events are meant to provide the knowledge base for underpinning the updated European Agenda on Migration
and the European Agenda on Security, and respective recommendations, directives, legislative documents, proposals, and action plans.
